GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Three Greenville men are behind bars this afternoon, accused of choking a puppy with a telephone cord, beating it to death and then dumping it in a ditch.
It happened in Greenville Tuesday afternoon on Carolyn Street.
Kendrick Fitchett, Evan Harrington and Demetrius Crumble are all charged with felony cruelty to animals and failure to dispose of a dead domesticated animal.
Pitt County spokesperson, Christy Wallace, says a woman who was nearby witnessed the attack and called 911.
All three men are in the Pitt County Detention center. Demetrius is under a $60,000 secured bond and the other two are under a $35,000 secured bond.
