MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach mother was arrested over the weekend for hitting her 13-year-old son in the head and choking him.
According to a Myrtle Beach police report, Amanda Faith Kuzmin, 38, was arrested Sunday night after police said she attacked her son while he was sitting on the couch.
The victim told police Kuzmin came into the living room just at 11 p.m. and began screaming at him. Kuzmin screamed “no one cares about you!” and “run away, I don't care!” the report said.
Kuzmin then began hitting the teen on the head with her hands and when he tried to get away, she chased him down and began choking him, the boy said.
The boy managed to get out of the Palisade Circle condo and held on to a tree, the report said.
Neighbors came out to see what was the matter and Kuzmin ran out of the condo and began yelling at them, the incident report said.
The boy screamed for the neighbor to “keep her away and don't let her hit me again!”, the report said.
At that time, two men ran out of Kuzmin's condo and confronted the neighbor, striking him in the head, the report said.
Another witness was able to get the boy inside his condo until police arrived.
The men and neighbors broke up the fight when they heard Myrtle Beach police sirens, the report said.
Kuzmin is charged with aggravated assault.
The case remains under investigation.
