Children love to play in water and, pretty soon, children in Hartsville will get to play at “Piratesville Splash Pad.”

It's a multi-featured water play area at Hartsville's Byerly Park.

It offers a variety of pirate-themed features like fountains, geysers, slides, dumping buckets and more.

“The City of Hartsville is very excited about this and all of the departments, this was a total city effort, so all the departments pitched in and got shoulder to shoulder and made this happen,” said Phil Gardner, Director of Hartsville Parks.

The grand opening for “Piratesville Splash Pad is Thursday, July 4, 2013.
