Breast cancer survivors and community members in South Carolina will unite to share their stories at an inspirational kickoff for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® event.
Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities to fund the fight against breast cancer. Walks are three to five miles in distance. That's only about 10,000 steps, and each one brings us closer to finishing the fight.
One of every two women newly diagnosed with breast cancer turns to the Society for help and support. Making Strides enables the American Cancer Society to provide free resources and programs to these women, as well as fund groundbreaking research to find, prevent, treat and cure breast cancer and ensure access to mammograms for women who need them. Breast cancer is not only diagnosed in women, a small percentage of men are also diagnosed with breast cancer.
The event kicks off August 29th from 6:00a.m. – 8:00p.m. at the McLeod Health and Fitness Center.
Seating is limited so please RSVP by August 23, 2013 at 843-213-0333.
