A deputy with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office resigned Monday after being arrested over the weekend.

Sheriff John Skipper says Heath Evans, 32, was charged with public intoxication and trespass after notice early Sunday morning at the Blind Horse Saloon in Greenville.

Evans reported the arrest and then resigned.

Evans had been with the department as part of the uniform patrol since June.

“I will not tolerate behavior by any employee that brings discredit to my Office or the citizens of Anderson County,” Sheriff Skipper said.
