Lt. Robert Kegler with the Horry County Police Department says skeletal remains were found on Tidewater Road near Waccamaw Boulevard in Myrtle Beach Saturday around 12:40 p.m.
The human remains were found by a man who was helping with the search for missing 20-year-old Heather Elvis, who is from Myrtle Beach.
Wednesday, Peter Cestare, an investigator with Horry County Police Department's Crime Scene Investigations said more bones were found but Cestare thinks those bones are consistent with those found Saturday.
The bones were found in the general area where the volunteer search group discovered bones Saturday.
Investigators are asking that people stay away from the area where the bones were found until the investigation is complete.
Horry County Coroner Robert Edge told News13 the bones found Wednesday appear to be femur bone and an arm bone.
The bones will be sent to anthropologist to determine the gender.
Edge said Tuesday afternoon that the remains were from a man who was at least 20 years old when he died.
