PREPS HOOPS ROUNDUP: Myrtle Beach honors Ramon Sessions

MYRTLE BEACH – Ramon Sessions has reached the highest level of basketball since he graduated from Myrtle Beach High School and he's never forgotten about his home town of Myrtle Beach.

For that, city and school leaders honored the Charlotte Bobcats guard Tuesday at Myrtle Beach High School, presenting him with a key to the city and a banner inside the MBHS gym.

“It's one of those things you live for,” Sessions said. “I play in the NBA, I'm famous – what people call it – but without being able to come back home, it don't mean anything. For me to just come back and be honored here – I wish (former MBHS basketball coach) Buddy (Rogers) was here to see all this, but I know he's watching above – it's really emotional because the community did a lot for me, and it's just a blessing to be remembered.”

Sessions is in his seventh year in the NBA. He remains active in the Myrtle Beach community, hosting a basketball camp and a turkey giveaway each year.
