Digital billboards along the East Coast in South and North Carolina are
displaying photographs of a slaying suspect from the D.C.
area and a missing girl police say could be traveling with him.
FBI spokeswoman Lindsay Godwin said Thursday the
agency is “casting a wide net” from Georgia to Maryland in looking for 51-year-old Kahlil Malik
Tatum, who is charged with killing his wife in Maryland.
The FBI believes that 8-year-old Relisha Tenau Rudd, who was reported missing last week, is with Tatum.
Authorities have arrest warrants for Tatum charging with murder in his wife's death and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
The body of 51-year-old Andrea Tatum was found
March 20 in a motel room in Oxon Hill, Md., where officers had gone to
assist Washington, D.C., police in the search for Relisha.
Weeks prior to the girl being reported missing, she was known to wear a purple Helly Hansen brand winter jacket and pink boots, the FBI said.
The girl is described as a black female, 4'0″ tall, weighing approximately 70 to 80 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium complexion.
The FBI Tuesday released surveillance footage of Tatum and missing Relisha Tenau Rudd taken on from February 26, 2014, at
the Holiday Inn Express in Washington, DC.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to
the location and return of missing Relisha Tenau Rudd.
A separate reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone who provides
information leading to an arrest and indictment in the murder case.
