A North Carolina mother is facing charges for putting a heart-shaped tattoo on her 12-year-old daughter’s arm.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s office, Social Services was tipped off about the tattoo and the agency reported it to authorities. It’s illegal to tattoo someone under the age of 18 in North Carolina. Anna Yates, 29, argues she has the right as her parent. The report doesn’t state whether Yates is licensed or permitted to tattoo. Tattoo artists need to be regulated by the Health Department. Even if she is the child is still not of age.
Yates is expected to appear in court later this month on the misdemeanor charge.
