The body of Beverly Carter, a realtor who had been missing since last Thursday, has been found. Investigators say her body was found in a shallow grave, about 25 miles from where she was last known to be. Carter, 49, was showing a home last week near Little Rock. Her car was found in the driveway with her purse inside.

Police say Arron Lewis, 33, admitted to kidnapping Carter but police say he did not admit to killing her.

Lewis was involved in a traffic accident Sunday. When deputies arrived they took some pictures of his bloody face. Lewis had to go to the hospital for his injuries. He told police someone ran him off the road and his car wound up on top of a concrete culvert.

A Pulaski County deputy followed the ambulance to the hospital to issue a ticket to Lewis for careless driving as well as not wearing his seat belt, since there was evidence Lewis hit the windshield during the crash. Lewis escaped from the hospital. Lewis was a person of interest in the Carter investigation at that time but there was no warrant issued yet and authorities wouldn’t say how they linked him to the case. They later caught Lewis and say he admitted to kidnapping Carter but wouldn’t divulge her whereabouts.

Lewis was initially charged with kidnapping and now police say his charges will likely include capital murder.
