On September 29, 2014 deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for backup by the Timmonsville Police Department regarding multiple suspects believed to have just been involved in an armed robbery at a business located at 134 West Market Street in Timmonsville. According to Investigators, the suspects, one of whom pointed and presented a firearm, allegedly entered the business, physically assaulted the store employee and stole merchandise prior to fleeing the scene on foot.

Shykell Jackson, 17, of Timmonsville, and two other suspects were apprehended shortly after the incident. Jackson plays football for Timmonsville High School.  Jackson and the other suspects, both of whom are minors, are charged with assault and battery by mob and armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon. The two juvenile suspects were taken into custody following the incident and have been transported to the SC Department of Juvenile Justice.
