Authorities in Florence County say that 2 young Effingham women were charged with burglary after deputies were involved in a “brief pursuit” with the women Thursday.
Marissa Brandlyn Turner, age 23, and Meaghan Elizabeth Turner, age 25, both of the same house in the 6500 block of Pygatt Road in Effingham were each charged with Burglary, Second Degree, said Maj. Mike Nunn of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
“According to Investigators, both subjects are alleged to have committed recent burglaries on Stagecoach Road in Effingham and on Central Road near Olanta,” Nunn said in a press release.
Units with the Olanta Police Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol assisted Florence deputies, Nunn said.
Both subjects are being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Meaghan Turner is also charged with failure to stop for a blue light, according to the Florence County Detention Center website.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
This is Marissa Turner’s third arrest in the last six months, according to the Florence County Detention Center website.
In July, she was charged with breach of trust and in November with burglary, according to the website.
