Horry County couple arrested after neighbor dispute ends with shooting

Horry County Police were called to the Burgess area of Horry County on Thursday afternoon for a neighbor dispute.  A father and son told police they were in their front yard when a neighbor, a few doors down, started yelling at them. Apparently they have a history of issues but this time things escalated when one retrieved a shotgun and shot the other.

Officers arrived quickly and attempted to stop the suspects who had gotten into an SUV and were headed toward the intersection of Weslin Creek.  Police say a short chase at a high rate of speed resulted in the arrest of Michael Perry and Jennifer Perry both of Myrtle Beach. They are currently in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Michael Perry, 39, was arrested and booked on charges of attempted murder. Jennifer Perry, 43, is charged with failure to stop for a blue light.
T
he victim suffered minor injuries from the buck shot and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
