Police stopped residents from coming or going from an apartment complex, deployed search dogs and nabbed 2 people after a Myrtle Beach shooting Monday afternoon.
Earlier Monday afternoon there were reports of a shooting in Myrtle Beach at Grey Street, which is off Mr. Joe White Ave., police said.
No one was hurt in the shooting, but police learned that a red Camaro was possibly involved in the incident.
“Officers observed a vehicle matching that description and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled from officers and was located in the area of 48 Ave North and Wild Iris Road, (which is) Horry County PD jurisdiction,” said Lt. Joel Crosby of the Myrtle Beach Police.
Around 4:30 pm, police from Horry County and Myrtle Beach arrived on the scene at Myrtlewood Villas, which is off 48th Avenue North.
Horry County Police responded with the canine tracking team and ultimately took 2 people into custody, said Lt. Raul Denis of the Horry County Police.
Residents were blocked from returning to their homes “for their safety while the search was going on,” Denis said.
“As soon as it was believed the responsible party was in custody the residents were allowed to return to their homes,” Denis said.
Lt. Crosby reports Tuesday morning that the subjects questioned in connection to this incident were released and no charges filed.
