Three Republicans have filed to run in a special SC House election scheduled for mid-April.
SC House District 63 became empty when Rep. Kris Crawford, an emergency room doctor, resigned from his seat in last month — just a month after being elected.
Crawford, who was elected to his fifth term, said it allows him to spend more time with his wife and four daughters, ages 11 to 16.
Those who met the noon Monday filing deadline are all from Florence.
In alphabetical order, they are:
Robby L Hill Jr., who is currently a Florence City Councilman. He also is Founder & CEO at HillSouth iT Solutions; Chairman of Pee Dee Workforce Investment Board; Chairman of Florence County Legislative Day; Board Member of SC Chamber of Commerce; Board Member of Florence Downtown Development Corporation, according to his candidate Facebook page.
Elijah Jones, a business owner of SonShine Management Systems since 2007, according to his website.
Jay Jordan, an attorney who studied at Charleston School of Law, College of Charleston and Florence Christian School, according to his candidate Facebook page.
