McLeod Foundation Honors Loris Seacoast Staff Members

On January 28th, the McLeod Foundation recognized the staff of McLeod Loris Seacoast for their support of the annual Employee Campaign. Two special individuals were honored for encouraging staff to support the Foundation. These staff members are Brenda Altman who received the Employee of the Year award and Teresa Bell who was named Director of the Year.

More than 2,000 employees participated in the annual campaign to raise funds to support the programs and services of McLeod Health. Since the McLeod Foundation began in 1987, employees have raised more than $7 million to support patient care at McLeod Health. The importance of the Employee Campaign is also significant, as McLeod Employees are the largest donor to the Foundation.

“This year’s Employee Campaign was the most successful in the history of the Foundation with more than $733,000 raised,” said Jill Bramblett, Executive Director. “The participation of our employees and volunteers and the amount of money raised, demonstrates how much the members of our McLeod family believe in and support the mission of the McLeod Foundation.”

About McLeod Health Foundation

The McLeod Health Foundation was established in 1986 as an independent not for profit tax exempt charitable organization whose mission is to generate philanthropic and community support to perpetuate medical excellence at McLeod Health. Thanks to the generosity of this region, the Foundation has raised in excess of $40 million and has provided support for hundreds of programs at McLeod Health. These programs include support for McLeod Loris Seacoast, McLeod Children’s Hospital, The Guest House at McLeod, McLeod Hospice Services, McLeod Cancer Center for Treatment and Research, McLeod Heart and Vascular Institute and McLeod Diabetes Services, just to name a few. Simply put the Foundation funds better health for thousands of families throughout northeastern South Carolina and southeastern North Carolina.

Separately chartered, the McLeod Health Foundation is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. Gifts to the McLeod Health Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extend allowed by law and 100% of every gift received goes directly to the area it is designated.

The work done by the McLeod Health Foundation goes beyond the hospital walls and reaches straight into the heart of the community.
