Project R.I.S.E. and The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce hosted its first Leadership & Empowerment Summit on Tuesday.

It was held at the SiMT facility at Florence-Darlington Technical College.

The vision for the event is to inspire male students at Florence-Darlington Technical College and males within the community.

Staff from Florence School District One, Florence-Darlington Technical College and Palmetto First Credit hosted workshops on career readiness, workplace professionalism and money management.

This summit encouraged males to “RISE Up & Be Empowered” by taking advantage of academic and community resources.

A panel session was led by FDTC’s executives, staff & faculty addressed a myriad of topics affecting males today.

Orlando Hudson, a former Major League Baseball player, Gold Glove Award winner, two-time All-Star player and founder of the C.A.T.C.H. Foundation was the keynote speaker.
