South Carolina’s Governor Nikki Haley spent part of her day in Florence Thursday.
She spoke at Abundant Life Church on South Irby Street.
The governor discussed SucceedSC which is a workforce initiative she introduced in her January “State of the State” address.
“Our goal is to make sure that we are connecting those small businesses that need a work force with those people that need jobs. You know if you look at Florence County alone we were at 11.8 percent unemployment were now at seven but seven still we wanna lower that more,” said Governor Haley.
The governor also spoke about how
ReadySC which is a part of the Technical College System which trains people for large industries that come to the state.
ReadySC promotes the economic and workforce development of the state of SC. It provides customized training for new and expanding business and industry in the state of SC.
The training is provided at little or no cost to qualifying companies.
