Libba Holland is Weekday Morning Anchor and Digital Journalist at WBTW News13 in Myrtle Beach. She reports throughout the week, and co-anchors News 13 This Morning with Rusty Ray and Martha Spencer. You can watch her each morning at 5 a.m. She also anchors Fox Morning News at 7 a.m.
Libba came to the Grand Strand in August 2010 from The University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She grew up in Grayson, GA outside of Atlanta, then went on to major in Broadcast News and Spanish at UGA.
During her time as a Bulldog, she produced, anchored, and reported for the school’s student-run news show, Newsource 15. Libba also worked as a student reporter for WNEG News, which covers Northeast Georgia.
During the summer of 2008, Libba gained valuable newsroom experience as a news intern for WSB-TV in Atlanta, GA.
Libba took her first job in journalism as an Associate Produce at WBTW. She mainly assisted with video production behind the camera. She then worked her way up to Weekend Reporter, which gave her the opportunity to take part in all the exciting events the Grand Strand offers.
Libba launched News13 Saturday Morning with Storm Tracker 13 Meteorologist Andrew Phillips on May 19, 2012. The Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts offer a variety of Grand Strand and Pee Dee coverage, including a look at the weekend’s events, weather, and top stories.
Although she’s a Georgia girl at heart, Libba loves living by the beach, which is where you can usually find her on a warm, sunny day. She also enjoys meeting new people and listening to a good story, which is one of the reasons she became a reporter.
