Cokie Roberts talks politics, new book on women in history

Political commentator and best-selling book author Cokie Roberts joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. In addition to talking about the 2016 campaign for President, Roberts talked about her newest book.

The book is titled Capital Dames: The Civil War and the Women of Washington 1848-1868. It explores the lives of Washington D.C.’s women during the upheaval of the Civil War. The release of the book is timed to coincide with the sesquicentennial (150-year anniversary) of the Civil War’s end.

Roberts will have a book signing at Books-a-Million in Murrells Inlet on Thursday evening. The signing begins at 6 p.m. at the book store location at Inlet Square Mall.
