FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Another round of severe thunderstorms rolled across the Pee Dee Tuesday evening, bringing straight-line winds up to 60 mph.
A severe thunderstorm watch had been issued earlier in the afternoon, and warnings were in effect as the storms rolled through.
This time around, damage was light compared to the storms Saturday night, but there were still many trees knocked over by the wind.
A few of the reports of downed trees include: at the intersection of Whit St and Plum St in Darlington, on Hickory Grove Rd in Bennettsville, on Brickyard Rd in Bennettsville, at the intersection of Lawson Grove and Philadelphia Rd in Oats, on Highway 403 in Oates, on Old Georgetown Rd in Manning, and trees and power lines down throughout Lee County.
The storms weakened as they approached the coast, and at 8pm all warnings had expired.
