Trailers offer first look at film shot in Lumberton

"Shake Off The World," was shot earlier this year in Lumberton and will be released next month.

LUMBERTON (WBTW) – Several trailers offer a first glimpse of a film shot earlier this year in Lumberton.

The teaser trailers for Shake Off The World show several scenes around the city, including images from Lumberton High School and it’s football facilities (and uniforms), as well as traffic scenes around the plaza downtown.  Also several rural scenes involving the main characters could easily have been in Robeson County.

Shake Off The World is the first full-length motion picture production from Avondale Pictures. A blurb on the production company’s website reads: “The film revolves around Austin, a rising high school football star, who has his life all mapped out, until his coach makes a decision that forces Austin to change the course of his life. Austin finds himself in a new home, a new school, with a new set of friends and a whole bunch of problems. Just when it seems the world has Austin down for the count, he gets up, shakes off the world, and forever changes his destiny.”

The movie is scheduled for release next month.
