High school football coaches eager to begin new season

Waccamaw Head Coach Tyrone Davis

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – High school football practice begins in fewer than two weeks, and pre-season rankings will be quick to follow. The WBTW Sports Team releases its high school football rankings August 13 during the Blitz Preview Show.

Games begin just one week later when high school football officially kicks off with Blitz Week 0 August 21.

“What we’re looking forward to now is actually getting out and putting the pads on and starting the season,” says Waccamaw Head Coach Tyrone Davis. “It’s exciting when you start seeing all this football, you know, around the area, and seeing all these teams gearing up for the season.”

Davis says even with all the excitement and pre-season jitters, there’s a bigger picture to the upcoming season.
“It’s exciting for us, but at the same time you anticipate what might happen and how you’re going to be,” reveals Davis.
