Golf tournament in Myrtle Beach benefits several charities

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)- Organizers held the Rhonda Brown Memorial Charity Golf Tournament Saturday morning.

It happened at the River Oaks Golf Course in Myrtle Beach.

The tournament is in memory of Rhonda Brown, a long-time administrative employee at the Myrtle Beach Fire Department, who lost her battle with cancer.

Money raised from Saturday‘s event all goes back to the community.

“Every year we have an ongoing event which is a charity event, we take all the money we raise and we give it to local charities such as the cancer society, american red cross, and we disperse it that way in honor of her and to help local charities with relief efforts,” said Christian Sliker, Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.

Nearly 100 golfers participated in the golf tournament.
