Pot, guns found as result of Conway traffic stop

CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Conway Police made two drug arrests after a traffic stop led to the two suspects running from a vehicle pulled over for a traffic stop August 11.

Lt. Selena Small with the Conway Police Department reports officers attempted a routine traffic stop August 11 on a vehicle in the area of Woodward and Ridge Street. During the traffic stop the driver was identified as Mikall Pyatt and he then fled the scene on foot. Another person in the vehicle, identified as Anya Jackson, removed a bag of what officers believed to be marijuana from the car and ran into a nearby house.

As a result of this investigation a search warrant was conducted at Pyatt’s residence and over 30 grams of what police believe to be marijuana was located, along with an assault rifle and two handguns. Officers also seized more than $2,000 in cash.

Anya Jackson, 34, of Conway was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting arrest. Warrants were later obtained for the Pyatt who was arrested August 17. Pyatt, 33, of Conway, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting arrest.
