SC teen dies after collapsing at soccer practice

A 16-year-old teen has died after collapsing on the soccer field during practice Monday afternoon.

According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, Titus Martin, Jr. died at 6:48 p.m. Monday.

The coroner’s office says Martin Jr, was participating in the first soccer team practice at Legacy Charter High School when he suddenly collapsed on the field.

Medical attention was given immediately and Parker Fire Department and Greenville County EMS responded to the school.

The coroner’s office tells us Martin Jr. was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he later died.

The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy that is scheduled for Tuesday.
