HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Since 2010, Burry Park in Hartsville has been home to the Veteran’s Memorial.
However, age is catching up to it slightly and the city looks to repair it.
Last week Hartsville City Council approved a bid to have Hardscapes of Georgia to come and do some work to the monument. According to the city, it is does have some cracks and showing some signs of shifting due to installation issues.
As far as repair costs go, the city will spend over $44,650 to repair the memorial. That money will come from the Cargill fund.
The memorial is dedicated to the men and women who served in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf War, as well as the five military branches.
There is no timetable for when the work will begin, but it will likely start in the next 60 days.
