Missing Horry County man found safe

UPDATE – Monday, August 24 at 2:45pm – The missing man listed below was found safe by his wife and doing well.


HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)- Horry County Police ask for the public’s help in the search for a missing man.

Horry County Police investigators on scene confirmed to News13 Sunday afternoon they have called in the Horry County Fire Department dive team to assist in their search.

Police responded to a residence on Winterberry Lane in the Myrtle Beach area of Horry County for a missing person Saturday. The home is in the Myrtle Beach National Golf Club, not far from Carolina Forest High School.

Police say 72-year-old Kendall Collison, believed to be suffering from dementia, walked away from his residence and hasn’t been seen since.

HCPD is asking everyone to be on the look out for Kendall Collison. He was last seen wearing a short sleeve collared button down blue shirt with white squares, khaki pants, and glasses.

He is believed to be wearing black timberland boots and possibly a black rain jacket.

Mr. Collison is 5 ft. 10 in. tall, weighs about 165, has gray hair and a beard. His hair and beard may be slightly shorter than in pictures.
