ROBESON COUNTY, NC – News13 continues to keep you covered on a developing story in Robeson County as authorities investigate the death of Patricia Dawn Hill.
Deputies found the 66-year-old’s body Monday inside her home on Happy Hill Road near Fairmont.
Authorities don’t know what exactly happened when hill was found dead inside her home.
However, a day later the area near hill’s home on Happy Hill Rd. is back open.
“It’s totally out of nowhere…and it’s sad. It’s said,” said Lois Carter, friend and neighbor of Hill.
According to Hill’s oldest brother she had no family in the area.
She had been living alone and retired while still running a beauty shop.
A spokesperson for Southeastern Regional Medical Center said the chemical found is thought to have been used in the beauty salon.
“Her beauty salon was right next to her house. She was a good beauty shop person and she was a good person. She was kind hearted person. She didn’t bother anybody,” Carter mentioned.
There are a lot of older people that live in this neighborhood by themselves and it’s dangerous,” she added.
While Carter says for her and her neighbors safety is a concern, finding out what happened is just as urgent.
“We don’t know what happened but we need to find out what happened,” she stated.
As soon as we learn more we’ll be sure to share that information.
