MARION, S.C. (AP) – Sen. Tim Scott will spend at least part of his Labor Day weekend in his home state, where he’ll visit a church and go to a NASCAR race.
A news release says Scott will visit Door of Hope Christian Church in Marion on Sunday. Then he plans to travel to Darlington of the NASCAR Bojangles’ Southern 500.
Scott won’t be the only state official at the race. Gov. Nikki Haley and Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster are also expected to be at Darlington Raceway on Sunday.
