Horry County police officer reflects on 9/11 as a first responder

Lance Corporal Felix Cruz works with the Horry County Police Department. He is the St. James Middle School Resource Officer. However, before moving to the Grand Strand, Cruz worked with the New York Police Department. He was a one of the first to respond to the terror attack scene on September 11, 2001.

Now, every September 11, he visits groups of students to explain what that day was like. None of them were alive during the attack, so he teaches them about the event through his stories and artifacts.
