Pamplico police officer accused of selling gun to felon

Pamplico Police Officer Tyrone Reed, 27, was arrested for misconduct in office after SLED agents say he sold a gun to a felon. He was in jail in Effingham Friday morning.

FLORENCE (WBTW) – SLED confirmed the arrest of a Pamplico police officer Thursday night on charges he sold a gun to a felon.

27-year-old Tyrone Reed is charged with misconduct in office, which could mean as many as 10 years in prison.

According to a SLED press release, Reed sold a gun to a convicted felon.

SLED, Florence County sheriff’s deputies, and federal agents all investigated this case.
