Single vehicle accident kills one and injures four in Dillon

DILLON COUNTY, SC (WBTW) A single vehicle collision has claimed the life of one man on I-95 in Dillon County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the 2002 Ford Excursion was traveling northbound on the road near mile marker 187 when the driver lost control of the vehicle,went off the right side of the road and ran into a tree.

SCHP says the driver and the other four passengers were all transported to McLeod Hospital in Dillon.

The driver died from injuries sustained in the accident while the other four passengers suffered minor injuries.

Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identifies the victim as Cecil Parker, 49, from Ocilla, Georgia. He says the autopsy results show the victim died from injuries from the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
