American voters weigh in on government funding for cancer research

CBS News – Americans say they want more federal funding for cancer research. Thats according to a new survey conducted on behalf of the American Association for Cancer Research. The survey also finds when it comes to diseases and other serious health problems, voters of all ages are most worried about getting cancer. SOURCE – AACR/MedDay/CBS
A new study suggests another possible risk factor for developing diabetes during pregnancy. Researchers in Greece found women with high exposure to certain pesticides such as PCBs in early pregnancy may have a more than 4 times increased risk of developing gestational diabetes. The results of three new studies suggest taking antidepressants during pregnancy does not have long term effects on a childs brain and behavior. But researchers say the risk of significant blood loss during child birth was increased in women taking the drugs for depression and anxiety.
