RALEIGH, NC (CNN) — Police have released a sketch and surveillance photos of a woman that may be connected to jewelry store robberies in three states in the South.
Police say the woman’s approach to each robbery has been similar in the three states she has hit so far: Florida, Georgia and South Carolina
Police say she pulls out a gun and forces employees into the back where she then ties them up before stealing the jewelry.
The first robbery was a Jared in Woodstock, GA.
The next robbery was at a Zales in Dawsonville, GA. There she stole jewelry worth $13,000.
A week later a woman robbed a Reeds in Panama City Beach. She hit that one for $40,000.
The next store hit was a Jared Vault in Tanger Outlet Two in Bluffton, South Carolina. The thief was described as wearing a blue or purple striped skirt, a lavender and black brimmed hat according to WJCL.
Police are trying to figure out if the robberies were committed by the same woman.
The methods are similar and all the stores that were robbed were chain stores at large retail shopping/ entertainment plazas.
Tuesday, the FBI released more information on a possible second suspect.
They say a man in his late 30s or early 40s is seen on video removing a stop on the front door and letting it shut just before the robberies.
The photos appear to show the suspect’s car as a red 2009/ 2010 Honda Civic LX with tinted windows.
The FBI says the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information can contact the FBI at 904-248-7000.
