Have You Heard – September 27, 2015

Have You Heard, it was 51 years ago today (9/27/1964) that the Warren Commission, which was assigned to investigate the assassination of President Kennedy, released its findings.
The most important conclusion in the 888-page report was that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in killing the president.

Ten years before that (9/27/1954), “Tonight” (which later became “The Tonight Show”) premiered on NBC. Steve Allen was the first host.

The late singer/songwriter John Denver had four number-one hits on the Billboard pop chart.
His fourth and last chart topper was “I’m Sorry” and it hit number-one 40 years ago today.
Denver died in a personal experimental aircraft crash in 1997. He was only 53.

South Carolina state Senator Kevin Johnson (D-Manning) turns 55 today.

Lil Wayne is 33 today. Gwyneth Paltrow is 43.

Lou Gehrig hit the first of his 493 home runs 92 years ago today.
