71-year-old Alvin Shannon has been missing since Thursday in Marlboro County, and deputies think he may have crashed his car in Wallace.

BENNETTSVILLE (WBTW) – Marlboro County Sheriff Fred Knight said deputies are asking for help to find a missing man.

Deputies said the last time anyone saw 71-year-old Alvin Shannon was Thursday, October 1, in the Walmart parking lot.  He left the parking lot in a 2009 dark grey Honda Accord with a SC veterans tag V27-243, and was last seen turning on S.C. Highway 9 toward Bennettsville.

Shannon has several medications he needs to take.  Shannon is 6 feet tall and 160 pounds, and since the picture was taken he has died his beard black.

Witnesses said they spoke to him on the phone since he was last seen, and their information led investigators to focus on looking in the Wallace area.  Deputies think he may have wrecked his car in Wallace, and now search teams are looking in that area. There is a command post set up.
