Myrtle Beach Chamber offers ways to support flood victims

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB and Myrtle Beach Area Recovery Council are hosting a canned food drive to assist South Carolina area residents significantly impacted by the recent storms. Please drop off canned goods at your chamber’s welcome centers between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday at MBACC main office, 1200 N. Oak St., Myrtle Beach or MBACC South Strand office, 3401 Hwy. 17 S., Murrells Inlet.

Business Survey – If your business is closed or if you are aware of any damage or closures to businesses around you, please complete this  business interruption survey so that we can post closures/damage information on the chamber’s home page.

Federal Assistance – If you were impacted by flooding in South Carolina, FEMA may be able to help you with flood related costs. Apply for aid at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362 / 800-462-7585. Early registration is encouraged.

U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loans – For financial assistance from the U.. S. Small Business Administration, contact SBA’s Disaster Assistance Customer Service Center by calling 800-659-2955, emailing  disastercustomerservice@sba.gov, or visiting SBA’s website at sba.gov/disaster.

Donations – Anyone wishing to make donations benefiting flood victims can call the agencies on this list.

Housing Needed – If you are willing to house displaced residents due to flooding, please email Amanda.Blomquist@VisitMyrtleBeach.com with your name, number of people you can house and a telephone number so the person in need can call you directly.
