Drugs, guns and machetes among items seized in Darlington

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – The Darlington County Drug Enforcement Unit seized electronics, guns, machetes and drugs during a search warrant execution Thursday morning.

Sheriff Wayne Byrd with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release Thursday afternoon that drug enforcement agents, along with the Florence Police Department Drug Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant at 2318 Turnberry Road in Darlington. Agents seized televisions, shotguns, handguns, rifles, ammunition, a safe, machetes, computers, approximately 30 bundles of heroine, crack cocaine, pills, marijuana, needles and approximately $1,000 in cash.

The following people have been charged in the case:

Christina Thomas, a 37 year old black female of, Backswamp Road, Lynchburg, SC was charged with; trafficking heroin, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base and possession of controlled schedule II narcotics.

Frank Toney, a 29 year old black male of, Backswamp Road, Lynchburg, SC was charged with; trafficking heroin, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base and possession of controlled schedule II narcotics.

Morris Luke Nance, a 23 year old black male of, Red Top Road, Lynchburg, SC was charged with; trafficking heroin, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base and possession of controlled schedule II narcotics.

Maleeke Raheem Toney, a 17 year old black male of, Trinity Road, Lynchburg, SC was charged with; trafficking heroin, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base and possession of controlled schedule II narcotics.

Roosevelt Evans, a 29 year old black male of, Highway 15, Myrtle Beach, SC was charged with; trafficking heroin, distribution of cocaine, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base, possession of controlled schedule II narcotics and simple possession of marijuana.

Quanitis McFadden, will be charged with distribution of heroin relating to this case.  He is currently being housed in Sumter Lee Detention Center on unrelated charges.

The investigation into this case is still ongoing, adds Sheriff Byrd.
