TIMMONSVILLE, SC – The Annual Timmonsville Christmas Festival will kick off with the Timmonsville Christmas Festival Beauty Pageant on Thursday, Dec. 3. The festival will continue Friday, Dec. 4, and Saturday, Dec. 5. The beauty pageant will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Timmonsville High School Gymnasium. On Friday, there will be hundreds of luminaries lit to create the festive atmosphere for the lighting of the town tree, which will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 on Main Street.
The Christmas parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. Vendors will open at 9 a.m. The Timmonsville Grand Privy Race (AKA an outhouse) will be raced on Main Street following the parade. This never-before-seen outhouse race in South Carolina, exclusive to Timmonsville, will start at noon Saturday. There is still room for a few spots in the race. Contact Pat Driggers, firstname.lastname@example.org, for instructions and schematic drawings on building instructions. The race will be followed by the Ugly Privy Princess Pageant — the most wacky, tacky non-beauty contest ever to be experienced. Live entertainment begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, featuring the Fabulous Clay Brown and his band as well as local performers. The day also will be filled with arts-and-crafts vendors, food vendors, Kids’ Corner activities, and a photo booth with Santa.
If anyone is interested in participating in any of the events or for more information, contact Pat Driggers at email@example.com or 843-346-2146, or Beckie Waden at 843-346-4718.
