MARION, SC (WBTW) – The Marion County Healthcare Foundation presented Creek Bridge High School a check last week to support their Lego Robotics program.
The foundation gave the program $7,800 to help the school buy 21 robotics sets.
Students are learning how to write code, web design, and more that will help them create their own robots later in the year.
“What we are doing right now is very theoretical and the robots are hands on. This is what you can do with what we are learning in class so it takes everything full circle and it culminates our course as a whole,” Computer Science teacher Rachel Abram said.
The robotics team is all part of the “Exploring Computer Science Program’ which encourages students in rural, lower-income communities, to become interested in science, math, and technology.
