Conway Police make arrest in recent car break-ins

CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Conway Police released a photo of a man they say broke into a car at Coastal Club Apartments Tuesday night, and through the help of the community were able to make an arrest.

According to Lt. Selena Small with Conway Police, officers were called to the apartment complex, located at at 630 Hwy 544, on Wednesday in reference to a car break-in. The victims told police a vehicle had been broken into sometime overnight and officers were able to track down a suspect after watching the apartment surveillance video.

Police say a man can be seen breaking into a car between 11 p.m. and midnight Tuesday night.

On Thursday December 17th, 2015 Officers of the Conway Police Department responded to Coastal Club Apartments located at 632 Hwy 544 in Conway SC in reference to a burglary auto.

Officers were advised that a witness had seen the suspect on Facebook and recognized him and then observed him attempt to enter another vehicle.

Officers located the suspect on scene and he was arrested and the investigation lead to the suspect being charged with nine counts of breaking into motor vehicle between the dates of December 15th, 2015 and December 17th, 2015.

The suspect was identified as Donovan McManus, 18, of Conway SC.
