Former Laurinburg police chief dies at 84

LAURINBURG, N.C. (WBTW)- The Richard Boles Funeral Home posted on its website Former Laurinburg City Police Chief Norman W. “NW” Quick, Sr., passed away at his home on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the age of 84.

The online obituary says he was a proud United States Army Veteran and a graduate of the F.B.I. Academy and he served as the devoted Laurinburg Chief of Police for 17 years transforming the department to a standard of excellence.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Northview Harvest Ministries officiated by Pastor Kenneth Blease. Graveside services with law enforcement honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
