Cold temperatures prompt emergency shelter opening

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Salvation Army has opened an emergency shelter Tuesday evening, in response to freezing temperatures forecasted for the Pee Dee.

The shelter opened Tuesday evening at 2210 Hoffmeyer Rd. in Florence. An employee told News13 it will close its doors for the night at 10 p.m., but anyone needing assistance will still be welcomed.

The shelter is expected to close at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
