Murrells Inlet attraction hosts historic tours during winter season

MURRELLS INLET, SC — Brookgreen Gardens just wrapped up a successful Night of a Thousand Candles event, and now, the attraction debuts its new events for 2016.

January 7 – March 4, folks will be able to take part in the Silent Cities excursion. This takes groups on the back roads to explore Brookgreen. This includes exploring cemeteries, and learning about the historical burial customs of European and African cultures.

Tickets at $15.00 in addition to garden admission.

The Oaks Plantation History and Nature Excursion began January 4th and will continue through March 2. This will also take groups on an excursion through back roads to explore the history of the Alston family in colonial and antebellum eras. Tours will visit the plantation house, cemetery, slave village, among other stops.

Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children in addition to garden admission.
