MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Police arrested 54-year-old Edith Doyle after she reportedly showed up at the home of her husband’s girlfriend, and attempted to get inside.
A Myrtle Beach police report details how the 48-year-old victim was at her home on Brenda Place in Myrtle Beach just after 5 p.m. December 17. The victim was working on crafts on her back porch when she heard her dog barking inside the home. When she went inside to check on the dog, the victim’s son said someone was banging on the front door and ringing the doorbell.
The homeowner opened the door, and police say that’s when Doyle stuck her arm and foot inside the doorway in attempts to get inside the house. The victim slammed the door, locked it and called 911. The victim identified Doyle as her boyfriend’s wife, from whom he had recently separated. Based on recent Facebook messages from Doyle, the victim felt Doyle was there to cause her harm, the report states.
The victim’s boyfriend told police that Doyle had showed up at this place of work about a month ago with a loaded gun, but the boyfriend would not elaborate on any details about the incident, according to the report.
Doyle is charged with one count of burglary for the December 17 incident.
