Supply man charged with robbing Walgreens

Wilford Norman Turman, 51, of Supply, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and trafficking opium or heroin.

HOLDEN BEACH, NC (WBTW) – Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office have charged a Supply man with the robbery of a Walgreens in Holden Beach on Friday evening.

Wilford Norman Turman, 51, of Supply, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and trafficking opium or heroin. Turman was located by deputies in a camper trailer on Randy Street in Supply around noon Thursday, and was taken into custody after a short foot chase, according to police.

Turman was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center.

Sheriff John Ingram says the community deserves credit for the tips and leads that were sent into the sheriff’s office which directly led to Turman’s capture.
