Myrtle Beach Police looking for would-be car thief

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Police are looking for a man who apparently tried to steal a Jeep early Wednesday morning.

According to officers, it happened around midnight in the area of 73rd Avenue North and Porcher Avenue.

A surveillance video of the incident provided to News13 by the vehicle’s owner shows a man walk around the vehicle, look around as if to see if anyone was watching, and then take out a knife and slice open the cloth top.

He ran away not long after, apparently without taking anything.
