Facebook post earns NC police department national attention

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – A social media post shared on Friday by the Greenville Police Department is now receiving some attention from national media, including the program Fox and Friends.

As of Monday afternoon, the post that addresses a photo posted online by a young man has been liked by more than 20,000 people and has been shared over 17,000 times.

The Greenville Police Department reports on their social media account they were asked to address this post on the national morning show Monday during the 7 a.m. hour.

In their original post, the department invited the young man to participate in a ride-along with an officer to learn more about what the department does on a daily basis. According to a Facebook update from the department Monday at 12:03 p.m., the man allegedly has agreed to participate in this ride-along.
