Woman and man shot in SUV carrying kids during wild chase

DURHAM, N.C. — A man and woman were shot while in an SUV with children during a wild chase between their vehicle and a suspect’s vehicle in Durham on Monday night, sources said.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Monday in an area near Robinhood Road and North Miami Boulevard, but the SUV with the wounded pair finally stopped on Holloway Street at Alston Avenue.

There were at least eight bullet holes clearly visible in the SUV.

Later, police took a handgun from the victim’s vehicle. It’s unclear if gunshots were exchanged during the incident.

There is no word on the condition of the man and woman who were shot. The children in the SUV were apparently not hit.
